Lilac Arch Press
Lilac Arch Press is a small press located on Treaty 4 in Saskatchewan. We create books for wellbeing and joy, any age, any stage.
Lilac Arch Press was founded by Denise Leduc in 2022. When a family member was diagnosed with dementia a search began for suitable reading material to help keep their brain active. However, there was nothing quite right.
Denise is a former librarian. She recalled an emerging trend in the junior fiction and young adult markets called hi-lo books. Hi-lo stands for high interest/low reading level. She thought a similar idea, but with stories crafted for seniors might be just the right thing for her family member.
Soon the small press expanded to include a children’s line and a journal. In 2023 Lilac Arch Press released its first anthology.
In 2025 a valuable member of team, Erica passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Denise is Erica’s mum. Lilac Arch Press took a break while the family learned to navigate this new reality.
In 2026 Lilac Arch Press is back with big dreams and big goals. Six children’s picture books are in progress and will be released in 2027. There are several hi-lo books in development for 2026 and 2027 releases. Several calls for submissions are open with the hope of crafting new anthologies for 2027 and 2028.
