Edith Fishlock

Edith (Edie) Fishlock draws on her years as a primary grade teacher when writing for young readers. Sharing picture books with her classes made her appreciate how these stories not only entertained her students but had the power to inspire and inform. A published poet and writer of magazine articles, Edie’s life on a small acreage on Vancouver Island was the spark for creating Barn Swallow Farm. Living close to nature with her husband, Graham, dog, Tasha and Icelandic horse, Leo, allows her a bird’s eye view of the active lives of animals passing through their forest and fields. When not in the saddle or at her desk, she loves knitting and aiming to make the perfect homegrown tomato sandwich.

Edie is the author of our upcoming book, Barn Swallow Farm.
